[bots] guild running 2 bot tease mesmers with 7 rupts ( no rez ) + bsurger . Monks cant cast anything , and melee cant hit , this is really getting annoying ... Some people do get banned because they have inapropriated name , but other are still messing everything

well... I've played Aion at the release... was a major disappointment -- bots were running all over the place, gold sellers were spamming in every city and outpost. I'm not too sure if NCsoft actually wants to figure out how to deal with bots. I dont even think many games can do it, or have the resources to figure out how. I suspect you'd still see bots running rampant even in GW2, even with the 'complex' mechanics. Anet/Ncsoft just needs to work on really waving the banstick. Maybe get a system like Warden from blizzard, idk.

GW1 is not likely to last very long at this rate. Neither will GW2 if this continues.

They just falsly ban you and then close it and make it final and ignore you.
As a player you have no rights just think twice before you play a ncsoft game

HA weekend ruined by the ridiculous amount of rupt botting. Why add a /report function if you're not going to do anything about it.

Ban a few and it will stop, once you bring out the ban hammer people will get scared and stop using them, if they don't ban the fags for all I care.

Thing i don't understand is that you can and will get perma banned for trading too much money/ecto's/zkeys between accounts but you can't get banned for obviously botting on obs mode without a ton of proof...

Then they went through and banned 15k bots A MONTH. Problem solved.

ANet just need to pick their act up and ban the more visible bots.

All the got to do, is do a mass banning on current dll injectors. Anet needs to implement 3rd party software/gamegaurd stuff or w/e and check for dll injections(Do it secretly without warning). 3/4 of GW pvp bots, not sure about pve. A mass suprise hit to all botters would scare alot of people. Keep doing it on a consisten basis. Its not hard to code blocking to accs who have dll injected. I mean anet if u can hear this, what are you paying your coders for, i could probably implement someshit that checks for dll injections. It really is not hard.

All they have to do is implment some VAC steam shit pretty sure its 3rd party so just buy the rights to it cause most likely they would also use it for gw2 aswell.

Say even though hackers are trying to bypass the 3rd party protection, they would have to spend hours and hours to develop coding and encrypting shit, this will atleast curb the amount of hackers.

Also you know what, 3/4 of gw know where to get the script and bots running these scripts from. It isnt hard for them to just look at the hacking code and counter it.

Anyways if they arent gonna do a update for gw1 to do this, im positive they will be doing this for gw2 however.

If they do it now, they will gain alot of players respect who probably wont buy gw2 because they arent doing anything to fix gw1 atm. This is putting off alot of legit pvp players and pve.

Every PvP place is having more and more bots anyway ( especially HA ,but also GvG and RA ) , so i 'll say it again ( yes again :/ ) , if nothing is done , it would be nice to have one place where we can use heroes( or even henchs ) ( for ex full heroes in HA ) , so that you dont have to waste hours forming , resulting in a lose to bot ( which happens a lost these days ) , then everyone getting mad and leaving .

Anet has never allowed or approved textmod usage, its just not something they go out and punish like botting.

Off course they have never punished those mods like botting, but implementing an automatic injection detector as suggested will get those using both KSMod and TexMod banned, as both mods rely on injection to function properly.

It's not a matter of "allowed" or not: a detector can't tell wether you're injecting for an allowed mod or for a bot, and will dish out a ban regardless. Unless they just implement a passive detector that allarms about injection, and then the eventual suspension is handled manually. Good luck then, they'll be getting millions of false allarms every hour, just because of the aforementioned mods.

So, they either make people aware of this BEFORE implementing it, or half this forum will likely end up having his/her account suspended all of a sudden. Fine with me, but as a KSMod user, I'd like to now wether such a feature is being implemented BEFORE being banned.

the catch22 of that is that it would alert all the botters, lmao. although i suppose it would still stop them from botting which is the ultimate goal ;-)

Sigh. I'm not having this sodding argument yet again - please ArenaNet's comments here. This has been discussed too many times now.

And while I agree with Kattar's statement to a degree, unfortunately a potential solution does bring TexMod into the conversation.

Back onto topic though - as a programmer myself, I would rather they take a more detailed approach and solution to this than just put in a quick fix that will, as Gil highlights, be an overwhelming amounts of false alarms. To me, what ANet do as the solution will have some sway in me buying GW2.
